Scale Drives Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud makes sense because the cost of computing changes with scale. At some point, an enterprise is better off owning its own computing infrastructure. One 2018 analysis put the transition point around a cloud services bill of $100,000 a month, for example, using 40 virtual central processing units, with storage of 160 GB.

The transition point obviously varies by provider tariff and usage changes.
